Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Cochin

As you arrive at the Cochin airport, meet our tour representative who helps you with an assisted transfer to the hotel. Complete the check-in formalities and settle in your luxury rooms. Later, embark on a city tour of Cochin.

A cosmopolitan city today, Cochin that is also known as Ernakulam and Kochi, was an important port city formerly. Also titled as the ‘Queen of the Arabian Sea’ and the ‘Gateway to Kerala’, Cochin is sprinkled with several tourist attractions that are a must-visit. The list of attractions that you visit today includes Mattancherry Palace or Dutch Palace- this 2-storied palace was constructed in 1555 and now has been turned into a museum that houses weapons, murals etc; Santa Cruz Basilica-one of the country’s 8 basilicas, it boasts of an amazing Gothic style architecture. The last attraction of the day is St. Francis Church, that was built back in 1503, the oldest European church in India.

Day 2

Cochin – Munnar

On day 2, get transferred to Munnar, by road. On arriving in Munnar, check-in at the hotel. Perhaps the most famous hill station of Kerala, Munnar, at an altitude of 6000 feet above the sea level, receives crazy footfall of tourists all round the year. This enchanting hill station has aromatic lush tea plantations, verdant surroundings, salubrious climate, adventure activities, enchanting view points and so on.  After check-in formalities, you are free to spend the day as per your own liking. Explore the nearby attractions on your own.

Day 3

Munnar

After breakfast, get ready for visiting the tourist attractions of Munnar. The places of interest in Munnar that you visit today include Mattupetty Dam- made on Mattupetty lake; this dam is famous as a picnic spot that lies amid tranquil and verdant surroundings and then the Christ Church- built by the British rulers in 1910, one of the sanctified religious sites in Munnar. The other attractions of the day include the very well-known Eravikulam National Park- home to the Nilgiri Tahr, an endangered mountain goat of Southern India. You can partake in adventure activities such as trekking. The last visit of the day is to the Anamudi peak, lying tall at an altitude of 2695 m above the sea level. Located within Eravikulam, this peak is known for offering trekking opportunities.

Day 4

Munnar - Kumarakom

Start your day early, leave for the enchanting Kumatakom town, by road. Upon arrival, check in at backwater resort. Nestled on the banks of the placid Vembanad Lake, Kumarakom is known all around the world for its backwater and colorful chirpy birds. This serene resort offers lush surroundings and peaceful ambiance and thus allures tourists from all around, every year.

Have your breakfast, and leave for exploring Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, also known as Vembanad Bird Sanctuary. A heaven for bird watchers and ornithologists, this bird sanctuary is home to resident as well as migratory birds. You may spot several avifauna species such as Siberian Stork, Cuckoo, Waterfowls, Teals, Egrets, Herons, Darters, Wild Ducks, Brahminy Kites, Owls and so on. If you are into adventure activities, you can partake in water skiing and wind-sailing.

Day 5

Kumarakom – Alleppey/ Alappuzha

On the 5th day of the tour, drive to Kottayam. On reaching, go aboard a houseboat that is going to make its way to Alleppey, the backwater hub of Kerala, which is lovingly the ‘Venice of the East’.

A houseboat in Kerala is traditionally known as Kettuvallam. Your houseboat from here to Alleppey would be an overnight boat and it is a well-equipped with a kitchen, required number of rooms consisting of all modern comforts, a trained chef and a rower. While the houseboat is cruising on the calm backwater, soak-in the peace and admire the lovely views of the paddy fields and palm coconut grooves. Visit the coir making industry, enjoy bird watching and see the villages doing their daily activities.

Day 6

Alleppey - Kovalam

Morning arrival at Alleppey, post the check-out formalities, disembark from the houseboat. Later, start driving to Kovalam, your next destination. On arriving, check- in at the hotel and rest for some time. The lovely beach town of Kovalam is an ideal destination for those who wish to enjoy a vacation in a peaceful place, away from the stressful city life.

After some rest, you have option to chose from- go for a rejuvenating Ayurvedic massage that is offered the various Ayurveda centers that are placed all around. If you want to indulge in fun activities with your loved ones and partake in adventure sports such as surfing and swimming- visit the crescent-shaped Kovalam beach (comprising Samudra Beach, Hawa beach and Lighthouse beach).

Day 7

Kovalam

On the 7th day, relax on the serene Kovalam beaches. Thereafter, continue towards Cape Comorin, now known as Kanyakumari. Called Cape Comorin during the British era, this lovely place is placed on the southern tip of the Cardamom Hills. Kanyakumari is one of the popular Hindu religious sites in south India. Visit the ancient temples here, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The other attractions in Kanyakumari that you visit today are the Government Archeological museum- housing murals, wood carvings and others artifacts and Padmanabhapuram Palace- a stunning palace constructed in the 16th century that has rosewood furniture, spacious Durbar Hall, carvings and beautiful carvings. Later on, visit the Kanyakumari beach and enjoy with your loved ones.

Return to Kovalam for an overnight stay.

Day 8

Kovalam -Trivandrum (Sightseeing and Departure)

On the last day tour, get an assisted transferred to Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram), which is the largest as well as the capital city of Kerala. Enjoy city tour of Trivandrum including its main tourist attractions. Later on, move to the airport to board flight for your onward destination.
