Arrival in Mumbai-Onboard the Deccan Odyssey
Around 15:30 hours, gather at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus for completing the registration process and the check- in formalities. You enjoy a grand welcome with garland and a vermillion tika on your forehead. Savor refreshing welcome drink. After you complete all the formalities, settle in your cabins. Enjoy a lavish spread during your dinner on-board. The train begins its journey for the first destination, Vadodara.

On day 2, the train chugs into Vadodara, a culturally-rich city along the banks of River Vishwamitri. Have breakfast on-board. Thereafter, disembark the train for visiting the UNESCO World Heritage site of Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park. The Capital of the empire of Mahmud Begda, this site consists of an ancient citadel, a palace, water installations and a number of military structures. Here you get a sneak-peek into the history and culture of India. This is followed by a visit to the very popular Jami Masjid- also known as the Great Mosque, it was founded in 1913. The architecture is a blend of Hindu and Muslim architectures. Back on-board the Deccan Odyssey for lunch.
After lunch, continue with your sightseeing in Vadodara including one of the most popular attractions, Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum. Initiated as a school for the children of the Maharajas, it now has been turned into a museum that has works of popular artists on display along with a wonderful collection of paintings of Raja Ravi Varma and other famed European Masters. There marble and bronze sculptures.
Special high tea at the legendary Laxmi Vilas Palace. Constructed in 1890, it is still the residence of the royal family. Durbar Hall is the highlight of this palace and boasts of detailed decorations, Venetian mosaic floor and Belgian stained glass windows. A part of the palace is a museum and it houses an amazing collection of old armory and sculptures (bronze, marble and terracotta) by Fellici. High-tea is followed by a folk performance and then dinner including special delicacies from the royal kitchens.
Back to the Deccan Odyssey. It starts chugging out from Vadodara towards Udaipur.
This morning, the Deccan Odyssey train enters Udaipur, placed on the banks of the panoramic Lake Pichola. Famous as one of the most romantic cities of India, Udaipur, also referred to as the 'City of Lakes'. Encircled by scenic Aravali hills, it is one of the most- visited destinations of India. Enjoy sumptuous breakfast while treating your eyes to the views of the Aravalis. Post breakfast, get all set for exploring the famous Udaipur attractions. The first in line is the City Palace- one of Rajasthan's largest palace complexes that was built in a span of 400 years. The palace complex has a number of wonderful structures such as Crystal Gallery, Manak Mahal, Bara Pol, Moti Mahal, Jagdish temple, Zenana Mahal and more. Later, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola's placid waters.
Lunch aboard to the Deccan Odyssey, followed by a visit to the old Udaipur city. This part has bustling bazaars where you can get your hands on colorful puppets, terracotta sculptures, wooden boxes, jewellery, cloth lanterns, pottery, paintings and more. Back to the luxury train, Deccan Odyssey. Enjoy the facilities offered in the train and relish dinner. The starts chugging off for the next destination, Jodhpur.

On day 4 day, Deccan Odyssey- the luxury train traverses through the panoramic landscape of the expansive Thar Desert while you are relishing morning breakfast. The train now is in Jodhpur or the 'Sun City'. The morning is at leisure onboard the luxury train. Later, get ready for visiting, the potter's village, the weaver's village and Bishnoi village. During your visit to the first two villages, interact with the local weavers and potters. Have a look at their daily creations. A visit to the Bishnoi village is going to give you an insight into the lifestyle of the Bishnoi tribe of the region. These people adhere to the 29 principles given by their Guru as long as 540 years ago for the protection of wildlife sand environment. Get an insight into their lives and marvel at their art of preserving their traditions. The other option is to enjoy a relaxing massage or a therapy at the popular Spa hotel.
Back to the luxury train for sumptuous lunch, followed by city tour of Jodhpur, Mewar's former capital, which houses a number of finest Rajput architectures. Enjoy a walk through the city and get a sneak-peak into the lifestyle of the locals. While you are walking on the busy streets of the Old Clock Tower market, have a look at the old havelis. This is followed by a visit to the glorious Mehrangarh Fort, probably the most popular attraction of Jodhpur. One of the largest forts in India, it was erected in around 1460 by Rao Jodha and overlooks the city from an altitude of 120 m. a part of the fort has been turned into a museum that displays, arms, palanquins, art and crafts, costumes, paintings and more, belonging to the days of the royalty. The evening is scheduled for Marwar barbequed delights, served right from the royal kitchen for you in the fort's huge courtyard. The views from the top would be great. Back to the train that begins its journey for The 'Mughal City', Agra.
Overnight stay on Deccan Odyssey.
Today, as the train enters the historical Agra city, you enjoy a lip-smacking breakfast onboard the train. Post breakfast, disembark for a memorable exploration of the some wonderful Mughal architectural gems. The sightseeing of Agra begins with a visit to the Taj Majal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This white-colored marble mausoleum was erected by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Taj's construction was completed in 22 years and this beauty is adorned with delicate inlay work, Jali work, precious and semi-precious stones. This monument is an epitome of love. Later, enjoy lunch at a City Hotel.
The sightseeing continues with a visit to Itmad-ud-Daulah Tomb, which is also referred to as known as the Baby Taj. Replica of the Taj Mahal, this marble mausoleum was constructed in the memory of her father, Ghiyas Beg, by his daughter Nur Jahan who was the wife of Emperor Jahangir. It is also known as the 'Jewel Box' because of the precious stones that it is festooned with.
Next in line is another World heritage Site, the outstanding Agra Fort, the seat of Mughal reign and administration for three generations. Placed on the eastern banks of River Yamuna, the red part of the fort was erected by Emperor Akbar. Later on, the marble additions were done by Shah Jahan and then Aurangzeb too contributed in the construction of some structures in the fort complex. Some of the popular structures here are Diwan-i-Am-, Diwan-i-Khas, Khas Mahal, Jahangir Palace, 2 lovely mosques along with the others.
After sightseeing, you get a chance to visit the popular local markets of Agra. Get your hands on the exotic Pietra Dura (marble inlay) objects and Mughal-style ornaments. If you do not wish to indulge in shopping, you can have a relaxing spa session at a popular city hotel of Agra.

Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore National Park)
On the 6th day, as the luxury train Deccan Odyssey enters into Sawai Madhopur, you relish an early morning breakfast. This place of Rajasthan is popular for being home to the one of the most popular and largest national parks of the northern region of the country, Ranthambore National Park. It is also one of the best tiger reserves too.
Post breakfast, get down from the train and get transferred to Ranthambore for an exciting Jeep Safari. Apart from a decent population of the big cats, this national park boasts of housing rich flora and fauna including sambhar, wild boar, sloth bear, chital, chinkara, crocodiles, nilgai, woodpeckers, jungle fowl, storks, quails, the crested serpent eagle, flycatchers, storks and more. Enjoy spotting the region's wildlife roaming freely in their natural habitat.
After the wildlife safari, back to the train for sumptuous lunch. Thereafter, you have a visit to a local village. Take the tour through the village, interact with the friendly and simple locals who might show you around their village. Get an insight into the daily life of the people living in Rajasthan's village.
Now, you relish high tea at the Sawai Madhopur Lodge, the former hunting lodge of the royal family of Jaipur. Later, back to the Deccan Odyssey. You can savor a drink before dinner and unwind.

On this day, the Deccan Odyssey enters Jaipur, the 'Pink City' encircled by the Aravalis. One of the most vibrant cities, it is dotted with mansions, forts, palaces and colorful bazaars. Post breakfast, step off for a city tour of Jaipur. The first visit is to the masterpiece named Amer Fort, also called Amber Fort. While on the way, make a stop to explore the wonderful architectural masterpiece, Hawa Mahal. Along with its elaborate pink sandstone carving, the palace is known for its beehive-like structure and several windows from where the royal ladies used to view the daily hustle-bustle of the city. Continue towards the Amber fort, later on. Placed on outskirts of the city, around 11 km away, this fort that overlooks the lovely Maota Lake, was constructed by Raja Maan Singh I in the 16th century. Made in red sandstone and marble, the fort complex comprises of a number of structures including Diwan-i-Am, Diwan-i-Khas, Sukh Niwas, Sheesh Mahal, Suhag Mandir, Ganesh Pol, Sila Devi Temple etc. You can enjoy an elephant ride up its entrance as it is located on a hillock.
Get back to the main city afterwards for visiting the very popular City Palace of Jaipur, the seat of the Ruler of Jaipur. This splendid palace complex was commissioned between 1729 and 1732, Sawai Jai Singh II, the then ruler of Amer. An amalgam of Rajput, Mughal and European styles of architecture, the palace complex has lovely gardens, courtyards and palaces. There is also a museum here in Chandra Mahal that has a wonderful collection of royal costumes, carpets, armory and rare manuscripts. In a part of this complex, the royal family still resides.
Next attraction in line is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory. Founded by the Rajput Ruler Sawai Jai Singh, it got completed in the year 1738 and has a collection of nineteen architectural astronomical instruments.
Sightseeing is followed by lunch at a popular City hotel. After this, you have options to choose from, you can either go for a relaxing spa session at a hotel of the city or can visit the bustling and colorful local bazaars to shop for souvenirs such as handicrafts, traditional clothes, imitation and precious jewellery, semi-precious gem stones and more.
